Summary

As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of projects at various construction sites. You will collaborate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget. Your expertise in engineering principles, problem-solving, and attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring the successful completion of construction projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Project Execution: Coordinate and manage the construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and timelines.
  2. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure construction work meets quality standards and complies with relevant codes, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  3. Resource Management: Plan and allocate resources effectively, including labor, equipment, and materials, to optimize productivity and minimize delays.
  4. Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams, including interpretation of engineering drawings, resolving design issues, and recommending appropriate solutions.
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and communication throughout the construction process.
  6. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges, develop mitigation strategies, and implement appropriate measures to minimize disruptions to project timelines and budget.
  7. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily progress reports, material quantities, site instructions, and variations from initial plans.
  8. Health and Safety: Promote and enforce strict adherence to health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
  9. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve construction-related issues and conflicts promptly, offering innovative solutions to ensure project progress and client satisfaction.
  10. Client Relationship: Foster positive relationships with clients, addressing their concerns, providing regular project updates, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the construction process.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience working as a Site Engineer in construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction techniques, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing, bending, and lifting heavy objects as required on construction sites.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating tools and equipment.
  • Good vision and hearing abilities to detect potential hazards and communicate effectively in a construction environment.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to work in various weather conditions and navigate large construction sites.
Work Space/Location Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site at different construction locations as per project requirements.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and adapt to varying site conditions.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces, if necessary.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required on construction sites.
