Specialist Trainer – Immediate Start

Location: Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

Are you a skilled trainer with hands-on experience in high-risk work, plant operations, and workplace safety? PNG Industry Manpower Solutions is seeking a Specialist Trainer to join our growing team in Port Moresby. About the Role

As a Specialist Trainer, you’ll deliver competency-based training and assessment across a range of operational, safety, and compliance programs. You’ll work closely with industry professionals and trainees to support workforce development across PNG’s resource, construction, and logistics sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and assess accredited training in areas such as rigging, dogging, cranes, forklift, EWP, working at heights, and confined spaces.
  • Conduct Verification of Competency (VoC) assessments for experienced operators.
  • Develop and adapt training materials to meet industry standards and client needs.
  • Maintain accurate training and assessment records.
  • Promote and uphold workplace health and safety standards.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching support to learners where required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or TAE40122) – Australian standard or equivalent (mandatory).
  • Current qualifications and vocational competency in high-risk work and/or mobile plant operations (e.g., Crane, Rigging, Dogging, Forklift, EWP, Civil Plant).
  • Proven experience delivering training in a workplace, site, or RTO setting.
  • Strong understanding of WHS compliance, including experience with audits, inspections, and training material development.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and communicate clearly with trainees of varied backgrounds.
  • Previous experience with mining, construction, or heavy industry sites in PNG is highly desirable.
