Credit Corporation PNG Limited is recruiting for a suitable candidate for the role of Tax Analyst.

The Tax Analyst assists the Tax Manager in delivering the full range of tax services in compliance with the Income Tax Act and Income Tax Regulations for Credit Corporation group and have good relations with IRC, Tax Agent and Finance Team to ensure smooth tax compliance and planning for the group.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Tax Manager in carrying out her tax roles
• Assist in the preparation of annual corporate tax returns for review by the Tax Manager.
• Prepare periodic forms for lodgments with the IRC, which includes monthly GST returns, salary or wages remittances, annual reconciliation, etc.
• Assisting Tax Manager with Tax Audits
• Assist with responding with notices from IRC including reconciling IRC tax accounts as well as maintaining tax balances per general ledger
• Builds good relationships with team members, IRC and Tax Agent
• Keep up to date with tax changes
• Research tax questions and handle special projects as needed.

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related discipline. Current member of CPA PNG – must be either Certified Practicing Accountant or working to become a CPA.
• At least 3 to 5 years of tax accounting and compliance experience with either a public accounting firm or a multi-national company.
• Has good tax technical knowledge
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with verbal, written, face-to-face and over-the-phone interactions with all levels of staff and management.
• Ability to effectively manage projects, prioritize and multi-task.
• An energetic and positive, can-do approach.
• Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks simultaneously, while prioritizing efficiently
• Ability to be a self-starter, well organized & has extreme attention to details.
• Be able to work independently as well as working well with a team.
• Diligent and responsible attitude, attention to detail and the ability to consult management and staff on tax-related issues.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
