Position Title: Warehouse Clerk
Department: National Parts Department
Location: PNG Motors – National Parts Warehouse / Distribution Centre
Reports To: Warehouse Team Leader / Warehouse Controller
The Warehouse Clerk plays a crucial role in keeping the National Parts Warehouse running efficiently. You’ll be responsible for the accurate receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch of automotive parts while ensuring proper records are maintained in line with company policies and inventory control standards.
This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, teamwork, and reliability are key.
Receiving & Storage
Receive all incoming parts and supplies, checking them against delivery notes and purchase orders.
Accurately record received goods into the warehouse/ERP system.
Label and store items in designated locations, ensuring proper arrangement and accessibility.
Order Processing & Dispatch
Pick and pack parts accurately for internal branches, workshops, and external customer orders.
Prepare dispatch documentation and ensure timely delivery to designated locations.
Assist in coordinating logistics for regional distribution.
Inventory Management
Perform routine stock checks, cycle counts, and assist with monthly/annual stocktakes.
Report stock variances, damages, or discrepancies promptly.
Monitor stock levels, shelf life, and storage conditions to maintain quality and availability.
Documentation & Systems
Maintain accurate warehouse records, including receipts, transfers, and dispatches.
Update inventory movements in the ERP system in real time.
File and safeguard all supporting documents for audit and reporting purposes.
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements.
Adhere to occupational health and safety standards when handling parts and equipment.
Use warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, etc.) safely and effectively.
Minimum Grade 12 education; Certificate/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field is an advantage.
Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory control roles preferred but not required.
Basic knowledge of automotive parts or mechanical understanding desirable.
Proficiency in MS Office and experience with inventory/ERP systems is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Basic numeracy, literacy, and computer skills.
Physically fit with the ability to safely lift and move parts.
Honest and reliable with a strong work ethic.
Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn.
Good communication skills and a customer service mindset.
