World Vision International Papua New Guinea (WVIPNG) has exciting opportunity for those of you who want a change and want to become part of a dynamic team. We are currently looking for suitable, qualified, experienced, and highly motivated professional to fill the role of WASH Project Officer to be based in Arawa, Autonomous Region of Bougainville.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead in the planning and implementation of WASH activities on monthly basis.

  • Prepare monthly Activity plans
  • Arrangement for logistics for field trips
  • Coordinate the implementation of field activities

Mobilize and organize the target communities for Water and Sanitation promotion activities.

  • Build reputation and good relationship with the community leaders and members
  • Disseminate proper information on WASH intervention

Sensitization of COVID-19 awareness and mitigating messaging and hygiene

  • Conduct awareness on COVID-19 in selected schools and communities.
  • Distribution of COVID-19 related IEC materials.
  • Installation of COVID hand washing facilities at institution.

Liaise with local authorities and other relevant stake holders to ensure involvement and participation in project activities.

  • Build public relationship and coordination with the stakeholders and local authorities
  • Involve the partners in the project implementation
  • Share project information on activities with the partners

Conduct workshop, trainings and related capacity building activities to project stakeholders and the target communities

  • Arrange and organize for meetings according to the planned activities
  • Arrange with communities on schedules to not collide with the local organized activities
  • Arrange and organize for logistics required for the training
  • Coordinate or liaise with technical persons to assist if need be

Report writing and Evidence based documentation of project Impact

  • Compile activity reporting forms
  • Complete Monthly Management Reports
  • Produce narrative reports on implemented activities
  • Produce quality impact stories from the field

Supervision of Artisans, causals etc.

  • Work plans and schedules are established for any given task
  • Time records for casuals are well monitored
  • Casual staff issues are addressed in line with organization policies.

Taking care of organizational property and assets entrusted to the team

  • Keeping track of organization assets and properties.
  • Producing incident reports for any damaged properties or assets.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • A certificate or Degree in Water Supply and Sanitation or Environmental Health Related Field
  • 3 years in Development Work, minimum of 1 year in community mobilizing role
  • Good computer skills
  • Experience in community organizing and emergency response is an advantage
  • Experience in health and hygiene programs or water supply and sanitation
  • Planning and coordinating skills
  • Must poses training and facilitation skills
