WORKSHOP MANAGER - LAE

Chemcare Group Limited is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to manage the company workshop and ensure all company vehicles, gensets and equipment are serviced, repaired and maintained safely, efficiently and cost-effectively. Reporting to the Group Security Manager and Directors, the role will oversee workshop operations, preventative maintenance, repairs and fleet availability to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the company workshop and supervise workshop staff.
  • Ensure all gensets, company vehicles and equipment are serviced and repaired on schedule.
  • Develop and monitor preventative maintenance programs and minimise vehicle and genset downtime.
  • Investigate vehicle and genset breakdowns and coordinate repairs, suppliers and external contractors.
  • Manage workshop tools, equipment and spare parts, while monitoring workshop costs and assisting with budget control.
  • Maintain accurate service records and provide regular reports on fleet performance, repairs and maintenance costs.

This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical or electrical professional with strong leadership, planning and troubleshooting skills and a commitment to safety, reliability and efficient workshop operations.

Skills / Qualification / Experience:

  • Trade Certificate in Diesel Mechanics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field, with minimum 5 years’ workshop, fleet, generator, mechanical or electrical maintenance experience.
  • Previous supervisory or workshop management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel generators, electrical systems, fleet maintenance and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Good computer, communication, planning, organisational and reporting skills.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious and accountable, with the ability to work under pressure, respond to breakdowns and manage contractors and suppliers.
