Workshop Supervisor

The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily mechanical workshop operations, ensuring maintenance and repair activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. The role involves leading technicians, planning and allocating work, monitoring job progress, maintaining work discipline, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, and supporting continuous improvement within the workshop environment.

The Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and promoting teamwork and professional conduct among workshop employees.

  3. Safety & Compliance
  4. Planning & Administration
  5. Equipment & Resource Management.
  6. Customer & Internal Service Support

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Trade Certificate in Mechanical (Engineering), Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanics, Motor Vehicle Mechanics for MVM (Automotive Mechanics) or related field.
  • Has Supervisory experiences and knowledge.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Minimum 5 – 8 years of mechanical workshop experience.
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Experience in heavy equipment, fleet maintenance, industrial machinery or diesel engine maintenance preferred.
  • Experience working in mining, transportation, construction, or industrial workshop environment is an advantage.
  • Lae based applicants only

Skills Required

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance activities.
  • Report writing and basic computer skills.
  • Problem solving and decision – making ability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
