Workshop Technician — Electronic Equipment

Keynote Limited -- Port Moresby -- Full-time, permanent

Do you have a passion for audio and electronics? Keynote Limited — PNG's leading musical instrument and professional audio retailer — is looking for a skilled Workshop Technician to join our Port Moresby service team.

About the role

Working from our Port Moresby workshop, you'll diagnose and repair a wide range of professional audio equipment (mixers, amplifiers, PA systems) and electronic musical instruments (keyboards, digital pianos, guitar amps). This is a bench-based role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in quality workmanship, and wants to be part of a team that keeps the music playing across Papua New Guinea.

What you'll be doing

  • Fault-finding and repairing professional audio and electronic music equipment to component level
  • Performing preventive maintenance and routine servicing
  • Providing accurate repair estimates and clear job documentation
  • Managing your own repair queue and meeting turnaround commitments
  • Supporting the sales team with technical product knowledge

What we're looking for

  • 2–5 years of hands-on bench repair experience in pro audio or electronic musical instruments
  • Certificate or diploma in electronics or electrical engineering (or equivalent trade experience)
  • Solid skills with diagnostic tools — multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators
  • Competent soldering skills to component level
  • Methodical, thorough, and able to juggle multiple jobs at once
  • PNG citizen or resident with the right to work in Papua New Guinea

Why Keynote?

  • PNG's largest and most established music and audio business, operating since 1968
  • Work with leading international brands including Yamaha, QSC, Mackie, Roland, and more
  • A stable, full-time role with a competitive salary package (negotiable based on experience)
  • Nasfund superannuation contributions as required by law
  • Supportive team environment where technical expertise is genuinely valued

To apply: Send your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience to [email protected]. Please include the subject line: Workshop Technician Application — [Your Name]. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
