About the Role

ChildFund Papua New Guinea is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Support Officer to join the 1-Tok Kaunselin Helpim Lain team. The incumbent will support the online harm reporting project by ensuring accurate data management, analysis, and reporting. You will work closely with the Helpline Manager and counselling team to maintain high-quality data systems and contribute to learning and accountability across the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify gaps in online harm data collection and coordinate updates to database, documentation, and SOPs.
  • Support timely and accurate data entry and storage by telephone counsellors.
  • Provide training and mentoring on data collection, cleaning, and database use.
  • Conduct data analysis and support reporting under supervision.
  • Assist in preparing timely reports and feedback surveys for Child protection, GBV/FSV survivors.
  • Participate in promotional activities and meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support relationship-building with referral partner organizations.
  • Respond to data-related queries and ensure communication aligns with standards.
  • Ensure compliance with ChildFund’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Completion of secondary school with basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel or database systems
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in information management or similar roles, preferably in the NGO sector.
  • Basic understanding of monitoring, evaluating, and learning (MEL) concepts.
  • Strong work ethic, including punctuality, teamwork, and respect for others.
  • Awareness of issues related to online abuse, harassment, and gender-based violence.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience with CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of GBV data analysis and relevant legislation.
  • Experience working in cross-cultural NGO settings.
  • Willingness to participate in training programs.

  • Good time and workplan management.
  • Understanding of development principles in PNG and child-focused programming.
